Dr. Mary Carmichael is a former school teacher whose passion is to educate and effectively treat individuals of all ages, from children to the elderly, in order to improve and maintain their health and vitality. After completing her undergraduate work at Francis Marion University, Dr. Carmichael graduated in 2013 from the prestigious Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. One of Dr. Carmichael’s passions is the chiropractic treatment of children and pregnant women. She is one of only a few doctors in the Horry county area that is certified in the Webster Technique, which can help optimize the health of both the mother and her baby. She is also a member of the American Pregnancy Association, as well as the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Dr. Carmichael has also completed extensive postgraduate studies in Therapeutic Modalities through New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. She has successfully completed extensive training in advanced directional non-force chiropractic techniques such as impulse adjusting and activator methods. Dr. Carmichael's commitment to ongoing continuous education ensures that she always employs the safest and most effective cutting-edge chiropractic science and methodologies.

Because Dr. Mary Carmichael's husband, Ray, is a disabled veteran, she has firsthand knowledge of the special needs and health challenges that are unique to military veterans. Familiarity with the occupational hazards and lifestyles of military servicemen and servicewomen has led Dr. Carmichael and her husband Ray to become active veteran's advocates in Loris and throughout South Carolina.

Dr. Carmichael and her husband, Ray, have three incredible children: Raven, Ray Jr., & Ben.
